Over the past few months God has challenged me to trust HIM and to have great faith. He consistently speaks to my heart impressing upon me, over and over, that now is the time to go and serve; make a difference in the lives of others, and just give of myself to serve and be a vessel that HE can work through. The words Jesus spoke in John 9:4 have come alive to me. So, I’m going to Chiang Mai, Thailand, “Chasing Daylight”.
I will be serving under the direction of Missionaries Scott and Brenda St Pierre with Open Arms for Asia at The Gentle Nest. The vision for The Gentle Nest began with Brenda and her daughter Aymee in 2005 and has quickly become a reality of the love and compassion of God. It is a home for babies who are unwanted by their biological mothers or families. The babies usually arrive just after they are released from the hospital. Many women in this part of Asia do not have the resources to take care of an infant. They hide out on the street, hide their pregnancy and do not eat well or take vitamins. Often, babies are abandoned, left to die, or given to the government orphanage.
I am deciding to do a small thing in a GREAT way. To serve is to love the overlooked. When you love the misfit, befriend the hurting, you are loving HIM.
